Other side effects of Dopamine Agonists
The main purpose of this website is to highlight those side-effects where the severity and likelihood have been significantly underrecognised - with focus on impulsive and compulsive behaviours, as well as augmentation in Restless Legs Syndrome and Periodic Limb Movement Disorder.
There are, however, many other side-effects of dopamine-agonists. A useful resource for these are the respective NICE guidelines for the drugs listed in our ‘Types of Dopamine Agonists’ page.
These include, but are not limited to:
Nausea
Low blood pressure (signs include dizziness or lightheadedness)
Leg swelling
Dyskinesia (extra, involuntary movements)
Not everyone one will experience all the side effects listed above. If you notice any changes in how you feel, whether related to this medication or another, tell your doctor right away.
